Firmly planted.  Unmoved by the waves. Shining consistently — especially when the storm rages loudest. It doesn’t steer the ship. It doesn’t fight the storm. It does what only it can do: shine light and provide direction.

Lighthouses don’t chase ships or control outcomes. They simply stand tall and light the way.

Great leaders know this truth. They don’t need to have all the answers. They offer focus and clarity in the chaos. Their consistency builds trust. Their presence brings courage. They’re not always the loudest in the room. Yet they’re often the most reliable.

And just like a lighthouse is most valuable in a storm, your leadership matters most when others feel lost, afraid, or uncertain.

There’s an old quote worth reflecting on: “A ship in the harbor is safe, but that’s not what a ship is made for.”
