Have Consistency: Dealing with Habitual Sin (Part One)

Gal. 5:16 But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh.

One of the greatest roadblocks to being a disciple-maker is struggling with habitual sin.

Habitual sin leaves us feeling inadequate because we know that while we are showing the world one thing we are living another.

1 John 1:7 (ESV) says, But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin.

The remedy for overcoming habitual sin is to walk in the Spirit. Walking in the Spirit is exposing yourself to the light allowing your whole self to be seen and experienced by God. I love summer because there is more sunlight and as we know more sunlight is a remedy for depression. Because Jesus is in the light when we walk in the Spirit we are exposed to more SON-light which is the cleansing from sin.
