Good mentors have proven experience. Find someone who has traveled the path you want
to take. Follow their lead and learn from their mistakes and their successes. Apply what you learn from them as soon as possible.
A good mentor possesses wisdom. Models provide a point of view that will allow you to see and experience more. They want to share that wisdom and can explain it in a way that is understandable to you.
Finally, a good mentor is a coach who makes a difference in people's lives. Just because somebody is on a path you want to be on and you like where they’ve gone doesn’t mean they will be somebody you can or should follow. They should be able to transport you from one point to another to help you add value to your life and those around you.
