Connection Through Charisma

Growing up, I always looked forward to church camp. I enjoyed meeting new people, building friendships, and making sure everyone felt included. My natural outgoingness helped me engage others and inspire them to join in.
Charisma is the ability to connect with others in a way that intrigues them and excites them to be part of the experience. As Christians, we may fear evangelism and discipleship because we think we lack the charisma to draw people to Christ. However, charisma is a trainable skill, not just a personality trait.
When we look at Proverbs 15:1, “A soft answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger,” it gives us a glimpse into why charisma can be learned.
Approaching people with genuine interest lowers defenses and draws them in.
People are drawn to those who make them feel valued. This opens them to new experiences.
If you spend time getting to know people while also living an exciting and joyful life, you will naturally develop charisma. People will begin to follow you, engage with you, and be interested in what you have to say when you walk into a room.
There are two ways to develop charisma:
Live an exciting, joyful life and share it with others, and show interest in people by engaging with them, asking questions, and relating to their experiences.
A joyful life in God draws people toward you. It will give you meaningful topics to discuss with others. And when we ask questions and draw out what other people are passionate about, they become more engaged in how we live life as well.
Charisma comes from enjoying life and showing genuine interest in people. It's about making others feel important, not being the loudest in the room. When you do make others feel important, you will naturally develop charisma.
